HD camera expert and Gemini-award winning cinematographer Damir Chytil has more than 20 years experience with documentary filming, specializing in science and nature photography.
Having shot in the adverse conditions of the Arctic on many occasions, Damir is thrilled to participate in his first venture in filming Antarctica. One of his first films, Arctic Summer, chronicled the expedition of a group of students to
Canada’s frozen Arctic.
Most recently, Damir just completed HD work on a new documentary focusing on the CCGS Henry Larsen, a Canadian Coast Guard icebreaker based in St. John’s, Newfoundland and the first vessel to traverse the Northwest Passage in a single season.
Damir’s documentaries have aired around the world and frequently on the Discovery Channel and National Geographic television. He has traveled to the four corners of the Earth filming such fascinating landmarks as Easter Island, Angel Falls, the Sahara Desert, the lost civilization of Machu Picchu in Peru.
Some of his most popular science and nature films include Polar Passage, Earth’s Natural Wonders, Mysteries of Sacred Sites, Ghosts of the Rainforest, Dog of the Midnight Sun and The New Quest for Space.
